The crow is one of the most complex and intelligent birds, a common character in myth and folklore. Crows have been a symbol of mystery and magic for hundreds of years, even thought to be harbingers of death.
This crock is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped into black slip and carved into by hand. Painted gold luster on the rim, not microwave safe - hand washing recommended. This piece is between 5-6” tall.
Keep in mind, there are small pinholes and a bluish tint to the glaze. See the detail shot for clarity. I consider these features as in accordance with the design of the piece.
