This piece is inspired by Hokusai’s 1825 woodblock print, “Sparrows and Chrysanthemums.” The naturalistic gesture of the oft-sighted sparrow, a shape we are so familiar with, plays against blooming wild roses.
This candleholder is a ritual piece, which creates a sacred stage for the pillar candle to burn. This piece is pictured with an intricate beeswax pillar which measures 2.5” wide.
The candleholder itself is 3.5” wide at the platform and 4.5” tall.
