Deer can be a common encounter, but a meaningful one. When you meet the eyes of a wild animal, you see something that also lives in you. In this scene, does wander through the snowy forest in the depths of winter.
This one of a kind piece is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip and hand carved into. I distress the slip, let it run, and embrace the individuality of each piece. After it’s carved and glazed, I adorn the piece with luster to allow different details to stand out in each image.
The slip on this piece is very subtly variegated. I consider these markings and imperfections as in accordance with the design and visual harmony of the piece.
This mug holds 8 fl ounces. Hand washing is recommended. Not microwave safe.
