This crock is thrown on the wheel by hand, then hand painted and carved.
The turtle is painted on the vase’s surface,with gold luster adorning its shell and the characteristic cheeks of the red eared slider. She is surrounded by red ludwigia, a plant that exist in her natural habitat and provide sustenance.
As we persist through life we can take a lesson from the turtle to slow down and live deliberately, building up our reserves and taking stock of our surroundings - what are we using to protect ourselves in this vulnerable time, and how will we protect each other?
This crock measures 5.5” tall. Hand wash only.
